dd is 16 weeks and i'm pretty sure we're hitting the dreaded regression :(

i was so hoping we would just bypass it altogether.

dd has been self settling and sleeping 7-7(ish) since 6 weeks.

new bed time is closer to 10pm and getting up at anything between 4.30am-6.30am with a feed in the night aswell most nights.

she wont settle herself and needs to be either fed or cwtched to sleep.

i think she's not far off being ready for weaning too so i'm sure thats not helping.

please tell me she'll go back to her sleepy little self soon?

what on earth is "cwtch"ing and will it work for my child too?

mumatron · 29/04/2011 21:14

Sorry! Blush

'cwtching' is just cuddles.

t'is a welsh word

really? - that's a lovely word. I will start using it! Pronouced coo-ching I presume? (I know how to pronounce cwm - it's my favorite scrabble word, cwtch my become my new favourite one)

Just jealous of your one feed in the night - that is my current fantasy seeing as DD is feeding 4+ times in the night. The only thing I know for sure about sleep is that I have never met an adult who needs to feed in the middle of the night every night, so at least at some point between now and adulthood my DD will make it though the night!

i know i am lucky compared to others. feel like a bit of an idiot complaining tbh.

I guess i've just been spoilt so far.

(cwtch is one of my fav words, dd giggles like mad everytime i say it to her, very cute!)

Hope my posts didn't make you feel bad - they weren't meant to. IMHO sleep depravation is just as bad if you go from sleeping through to being woken once in the night, than if you go from 2-3 times in the night to 4-5 (my experience). Better naps are supposed to breed better sleep, hasn't much helped us, but I think our DD is waking for cuddles and has got used to being fed.

good luck!
