I'm starting CC tonight

This could be an utter disaster but I just don't know what else to do. PUPD did not work neither does shh pat.
If I put DS-11 months in his cot he stands up and screams and I always give in as there is nothing left to do.

So after doing my research I'm doing CC. No idea if this will work as DS is pretty unpredictable and a high needs baby.

Just need some support really, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea and pre children it wasn't mine but I have 2 months until I give birth and we need to get DS' sleep sorted.
I've only just managed to get him to sleep without a feed.

I am not worried so much about the crying part just the part where it doesn't work and then I have no idea what we will do. He cannot self settle and I need to teach him.

Hi prolificwillybreeder.

I love your name. I guess I am an semi-prolific fanjobreeder as have 2 dds Grin

The youngest (10mo) is giving us hell at night, thread here Not sure we'll do controlled crying but watching your thread with interest for a miracle.

I just wanted to give you a big, hello! From someone who understands Grin

NCSS

Oh I just wrote a really long post and then deleted it!

Mummyberryjuice- thanks for the link and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Babybrioche- thank you! And thank you for your lovely post :)

Sweetandtender- how you doing? 2 full night's sleep, insanely jealous. We were up a lot last night but then he had a 3 hour nap. I think some more teeth are brewing, the dribble monster is back.

Um that's all I think.

He's gone down ok tonight stirred twice but easily settled.

prolificwillybreeder · 13/05/2011 09:10

Bloody awful night last night. He just did not want to settle all night. So frustrating and exhausting I might add.
Still he stayed in his own bed until 6 so not all bad.
Had to pick up a couple of times.
This is a long process!

NCSS = no cry sleep solution: the gentle, gradual slow approach to trying to get the baby to sleep. I bought the book, got half way through reading it, just getting to the main jist (i think) when we moved house and the book got lost in the move.
DS2 is 8 months, always been a terrible sleeper. He just moved into his own room (6wks after the house move) and we are trying the not picking up but being in the room version of letting him cry to sleep. shhpat seems to annoy him, he really wants to be asleep but isn't.
Last night was first night - only took half an hour to get to sleep, then slept til 4 - a record. quick feed and back to sleep (figure he still needs one feed a night having previously had 3), but we were thwarted by a poo... so one nappy changed wide awake baby later we lay down together for cuddle to sleep at 5.30. DS1 (3.5) was up at 6.30, shouting round the house and that was us all up.
sorry to waffle on, feels good to share and to know there are others out there doing the same right now.
DP with him at the moment - was all quite there for a couple of mins, but he is a real sleep fighter, still a few exhausted waaas

bumpertobumper · 13/05/2011 22:43

hmmm, DP just returned, ds2 now asleep, but on his front which is not good as then he tries to roll over, can't, gets up on all 4s and sits up and here we go again.... sigh
hope that to give him a little time to get deeper asleep and roll him over before i go to bed

Thanks for advice and suggestions
