How did it go with clocks going back

Just wondered how everyone coped with the clocks changing last weekend.
I put dd (21mths) to bed at 8pm instead of 7pm and she woke at 05.55 (06.55 previously) so not too bad. Sunday bed at 7.30pm and she woke at 6.35. Last night back to normal bedtime 7pm and she woke at 7.05 (I think I woke her going to the loo!). She hasn't slept past 6.30ish for weeks.

Yes we did quite well with DD. Put them to bed at 8.20 instead of 7.30 on Saturday. DD woke at 6.30 which is on the early side but not too bad. Her main problem has been getting her meals sorted. She was starving for Sunday breakfast. Yesterday she was up at 6.50 and today at 7.00 so thats all OK. DS has a light on a timer and DH forgot to reset it so I had to send him back to bed.

Also he wanted to know why we still had a wooden clock and when we were changing it.

good news for you too then! lol at wooden clock question

I think you just have to work it out what to do to move their routine. I think its maybe harder when they are younger (DD is 17 months). So for us we let them stay up until the end of Come Dancing, then quick bath and bed. Should really have fed DD some stodge while she was watching telly to fill her up until morning.

Its been fine here too.
I was dreading it as DS does not and has never slept at night well.
I can tell that its an hour back though because he is shattered by 7pm which of course was 8pm which is when normally he is going to bed, having had his bath an hour earlier.

I am ANAL about his strict routine so im all in a dither about it all!

My DS was absolutely shattered last night as he woke an hour early yesterday morning (and that is no word of a lie) and then by 6.00 last night (he had been at Nursery all day) he just wanted his bed but I managed to get him to hold on until 7.00 - but still he got up at 6.00 this morning and refused to go back to sleep!!!!

Hopefully going to nursery today will set him on the right track, although I seriously doubt it.

Terrible here!

Dd 18 months, usually wakes, 7-7.30am ish. Last two days 5.30-6am ish!

I have my fingers crossed.

bizzarely, my daughter woke up at 5am on sunday morning and talked to herself for a bit. She then slept until 7am (which is her normal time). So at 17 weeks, she set her own watch back an hour

I tell ya, the kid's a genius

We arrived back from the US after a weeks hol an hour earlier than we had planned with very little sleep. Sunday was like the land of the living dead. Monday morning school run was not good

Frayedknot · 01/11/2005 21:25

Still suffering here.

5.45 this morning instead of our usual 7.30.

Uuuuuuurrrrgggggh.

Rowlers · 01/11/2005 21:33

Not good.
Sunday woke at 4.30am
Yesterday 4.45
Today 5
No nap today either.
I'm off to bed in anticipation....

crazydazy · 01/11/2005 21:36

I like the name Mogwai, its my pet name for DS as he reminded me of him when he was born!!! Its been shortened now though to "Mogs"!!!

mogwai · 02/11/2005 19:04

hee hee crazydazy. I call my baby "stripe" when she's having a bad day, on account of her likeness in temperament to the bad gremlin

In fact, my husband often sends me a text message when he's on his way home from work which simply reads "Mogwai or Stripe?". If I reply "stripe", he brings chocolate

lapsedrunner · 02/11/2005 19:46

No problem, awake 1 hour "earlier" on Sun, after that OK.
