6 months sleeping advice pleASE!

This is two fold:
DS is 6 months and has been waking up generally once a night (generally between 3 and 5) will have a feed and then go straight back to sleep. He also has a dream feed at about 11ish. I have been trying to phase out the night feed by reducing the amount I give him as he doesn't seem to be THAT hungry. Very occasionally he does not wake up for this feed.
Do you think it is the way to go as in reducing the amount I give him or do you have any other suggestions?
This other thing is that he has started, in the last few days, to have a good old cry before going to sleep. In the past, he was able to settle himself but in the past few days, he has not been able to and therefore would only settle when held. He'd fall asleep in my or DH's arms and then would be ok to be put into bed.
As I don't really want this to become a habit, is it time to have a go at CC? And last night, after waking up for his night feed, he would not settle down again.Sad
FWIW, I thought I'd mention I've started weaning him and he is teething, so he has a lot on his mind (makes two of us in fact!).
I suppose I am terrified he is going to get into bad habits that will be hard to break.
I hope I am making sense, had a crap night and finding it quite hard to get a bit of perspective.
Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

As you saw from my post we're in the same boat. Hopefully someone will come along and give us some advice or support that this 6 mnth thing won't last. I'm going to try not giving my ds any solids today in case it's constipation keeping him awake at night.

Thanks for your post/support and wishing you a better nights sleep too x

Getting lots of tears right now, for no apparent reason.I haven't even tried to put him in bed yet! Conveniently DH is away tonight so will have to hack it alone.

Every nap / bedtime is hell with DD at the mo, shes just over 6 months. I'm just getting her to nap however I can (don't normally feed to sleep / rock her...) and hoping it ends soon as I'm getting really overwhelmed and weepy about it. Doesn't help on a good night she wakes me once or twice for a feed still, so I'm exhausted!

It did make me feel better to read that according to the wonder weeks this development is all about relationships between things, and the LOs are probably just realising how tiny they are compared to this scary big world.

Sorry this isn't advice, and hope all our nightmares end soon!
