Frustrated

My DD is 1 and for the first 7 months she was a great sleeper - slept through by 3 months and now goes to bed fine. However since Christmas it has just been stop/start of sleeping through one week then waking up throughout the night the next. I do not understand it we are not doing anything differently - a few times I can attribute it to teething but last night she was fine. She went to bed at 7 - then was up at 2,3,4, before I eventually caved in and gave her milk at 5. She then went back to sleep until 7.30am. We have left her for cry (no longer than 15mins then going into to check) this makes her more hysterical if I pick up and put down. I am starting to get frustrated at her which makes me feel like a crap mom as I know it is not her fault but I just don't understand why she is fine one night then like this the next. Also because she was sleeping so well last week we decided to drop her morning bottle and she seemed fine with that and now it feels like we are back to square one. Anyone else have exp of this?

Does she have a dummy she keeps losing? How many naps in the day does she have and how long are they? Is she sleeping in a grow bag?

Sorry twenty question Blush It just would be handy to know a little more.

The book I found the most helpful was Marc Weissbluth's However I found shush/ patting helpful not CC with mine or PUPD. Both in the baby whisperer book. But Marc's advice is pretty accurate I found.

Thanks Teaandcakeplease - doesnt have a dummy (used to but gave it up of own accord - but does cling to a muslin) - one nap a day between 1-2 hours and she is in a grobag. Will take a look - not heard of him.

Mine napped at about 10.30am and 3pm still at this stage. I found the less sleep they had in the day the worse they slept at night. Does sound counter intuitive but it definitely made all the difference. Teething wise I always re-settled mine with a bit of bonjela rubbed into their gums before leaving the room, as I could be sure then it wasn't teeth. There are sleep regressions at various stages, especially when they're learning to crawl and walk and start moving around in their cot more. Is her gro bag a good size? Not too big or small? Her room isn't too hot or cold?

You sound like you're being very consistent which is great.

Is it dark enough in her room as well? I use the gro anywhere black out blind and a small night light in my 2 childrens bedroom (they share).

I get frustrated when the sleeping goes to pot. You're not a crap mom! Things will improve again if you're consistent.

That book is great imo, well worth buying.
