Hi All

My DD 5 MO takes most naps when we are home in her swinging chair. At night she sleeps in her moses basket and self settles more often than not.

I am wondering if, when we move her to her cot in the next few days, to also put her in her cot for daytime naps too unless we are out and about obviously. Her nursery has black out curtains though which would mean her daytime naps would be in darkness. Are you not meant to keep daytime naps in the light or is that just in the early days when they are learning the difference between night and day?

Anyone have experience of this?

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah. I've always put my little boy into his cot for daytime naps - he has a blackout blind, too, so he is in the dark. I think the main difference is the bed-time routine. Do you have one of these? We do bath, massage, story, milk, song, bed (for example). If you have a bed-time routine, it will be easier for your little girl to know when it's bed-time and when it's nap-time.
