Hi iv posted on here recently about my DS not sleeping and having bowel troubles ect.
But i just feel soo down and tired, i need sleep but cant get any, last night i was up every half hour with DS crying, it has been going on for past 3 months.
I know every child wakens at sum point and i dont want to complain but every single night he wakens anything between 3-7 times A NIGHT!!!!

I have been to see health visitor twice within the 3 months and our GP just last week as me and DH just didnt know what else to do.
DS suffers from night terrors which is the start of it, he has had 4 episodes of them latley.
He is 21 months old and always suffered with constipation since he was a baby, he was started on the lactulose middle last year which helps but latley with the wakening tru night he seems soo unsettled and crying in pain (hence the visits to GP and HV).
Gp was great and i finally feel like we have got somewhere eventually, Ds is now on MOVICL and has been since last wednesday 1 sachet a day, he managed to go on sunday and again yesterday and today.
Im hoping once the movicol has startes working that he will feel much beter and will settle tru night, but i just cant see this happening!!!! :(

I would be very happy with even just 4 hours of unbreakable sleep.
Me and DH do take turns but evan if DH gets up im still awake and listening to see if he will settle, and i cant settle untill he has.

There is a bit on strain on our relationship at the minute because of lack of sleep and were biting ant the slightest things, i just want my baby to be out of pain and to sleep.

Please Help xx

Hi,maybe you could get some support/advice from a specialist sleep consultant/clinic?
The HV should be able to refer you or if you can afford private there is one called 'millpond'. I have used there techniques and found the book really useful.
Sorry you are having such little sleep. It is so tough especially when it is long term.

Just wanted to offer support. I am sleep deprived with a 5 month old DS2 at the moment, but when DS1 was 2, we had an awful year of sleep where he would be awake for 2-3 hours every night and like you, I had to bear the brunt of it. He sleeps wonderfully now, and never gets out of bed before 7, since he turned 3. But at the time we had a lot odd rows about it (DH and I) and I felt like a failure as a mother, that I wasn't doing my "job" properly.

It sounds like you have to see if the medication is going to work first. He might be in a bad habit after that but if he is comfortable then you should be able to sort that out. You could get the Millpond book which is useful. My friend used their phone support package which really helped her. Also, controversial, but I found that the odd night of Medised or Calpol Night was an absolute life saver. I know they have changed the age but the ingredients are the same. But that's up to you! Good luck!

Hello again, im very hapy to say wev had 2 great nights with DS well alot better anyhow.

The movicol sure is working and DS has been pooing for england, looks like he has had an awful lot bunged up inside bless him no wonder hes been soo uncomfortable.

Wed night he fell asleep at 8.15 and we didnt hear him untill 4.15am! :)
He went straight back over where as normally he would scream and carry on, he fell straight bk over untill 6.35am. Last night he woke at 2am but again went back over bt then woke at 5am and we ended up down stairs but after just these 2 nights im starting to feel alot better.

Thankyou for your advice x
