Dummy and trapped wind.

My son has NEVER slept through the night and has always suffered with trapped wind, I?m baffled and at my wits ends. I keep being told he will grow out of it, will be pushing for intolerance tests soon. He has a dummy at night which he reaches for once he has an attack, do you think the dummy makes it worse or not? I find, he is able to sooth himself with the dummy and put himself back to sleep if the wind is not too bad or maybe I am wrong? Should I rid him of the dummy?

He is 2 in April.
