hammock to cot: how easy/any tips?

Pretty much as the title says. My ds is now getting too big for his baby hammock and needs to transfer to a cot. As we tend to rock him to sleep, we're dreading the transfer. I've just started to put him down in the cot for his daytime naps and he won't settle so I lift him out and put him in the hammock where he'll settle, sometimes without rocking. He wakes throughout the night still and the idea of not being able to rock him back to sleep is a worry.

Any tips?

Read Elizabeth Pantley for no-cry sleep solutions. Basically finding other ways of settling him in the cot. Deep breath though, it may take a while!

Good luck!

Thanks for that.

Anybody else with this experience, do I need lots of luck?

Hi there

We are in the same situation as you - the thought of moving DD out of her Amby gives me cold sweats!
How did you get on in the end, do you have any gems to share from your experience? DD sleeps so easily in her hammock I'd have no problem
with her staying in it, but she will be going to nursery soon and I doubt they'd humour me arriving with the hammock each day lol!
Any advice/shared experience would be much appreciated.
