my 4 month old son occasionally wakes in his sleep as if he can't breathe or something has gone down the wrong way. I always seem to wake when he does this but am reluctant to move his cot into his own room. I'm not sure if he has done this before and I haven't woken but it is very scary and looks like he is having a fit. He gets over it very quickly when I pick him up but wonder if anyone else has experienced this? I haven't sought medical advice as yet.

Hi, I would go and see your GP and get your DS checked out. Write down as much detail as you can remember about what happens when he is having trouble breathing - eg how long it lasts, if his colour changes etc. Its probably nothing serious but always better to get it checked out.
