Hi

Can anyone help! My 13 week old son won't settle at night. I have tried everything. He goes to bed at 7 after bath and 5 ons bottle (won't ever drink more), self settles and goes to sleep fine. I have tried dreamfeeding him at 11, he then wakes up again between 2 and 3am, I have not given him a bottle and tried to sooth him. After that he sleeps maybe for an hour then cat naps until morning. I have tried not dreamfeeding him thinking that may disturb his best sleep, he wakes about 1-2, I feed him and he then cat naps until morning. I have tried going to him soothing him with a dummy and getting him in bed with me but nothing seems to work. He just won't go back to proper sleep and wakes every 20 mins or so. He is a fussy eater and never takes more than 5 ons at a time. Any advice as to how I can get him to sleep again after the night waking?

Would he take a bottle at 3am if it was offered?

Not sure to be honest. I don't think he would because he struggles to finish one when I dream feed him anyway. It seems whatever I do is not working. I have no problem getting up in the night but wish he would settle back to sleep again as it is rough being up from 3 am! I have a toddler too.

I'd offer him a bottle at 3am. If he's only had a little drink at 7pm & not much at 11pm chances are he can't settle because he's hungry again. If he's on formula you could try the versions for hungrier babies so that his 5oz packs more of a punch.

Hi

Thanks for your advice. I gave him a bottle at 3am this morning and he took the whole lot so will do the same tonight. I think it could be a growth spurt as he has been draining 6 ons today! Think I was pushing him to drop a middle of the night feed a bit too early.
