Help my dd won't go to bed!

We're going crazy here. I started work four days a week four weeks ago. At first my 2.5 yr dd was happy as she was being looked after by a friend until her nursery place came up. But since she started nursery she's gone really unsettled and with our dd the first thing which goes is always bedtime. Never this bad though, but now she's in a bed not a cot so can get up - leaving her screaming in her room is not an option.
We've resorted to letting her conk out on the sofa and carrying her up (she's wise to that trick now having woken in transit last night) but it's not ideal and it's breaking my heart to see her so exhausted and unhappy.
Is there anyone who can help?????

When my DD turned 2 we had a similar issue. We would wait until she was nearly conking out on the sofa, then carry her upstairs and one of us (usually DH as he has the patience of a saint!!) would sit cuddling her in her own bed until she dropped off.

We then reduced the 'sofa time' but kept to the bedtime cuddling whilst reading, then left before she fell asleep. It took a good few weeks (and was a PITA at times), but she now goes to sleep really easily.

I think she just misses her parents and needs reassuring that you are there, it will pass!!
