Dreamfeed problems

Hi,

We started dreamfeeding our 8 week old daughter about 2 weeks ago. She alternates between the amount she will take - if it's over 100mls she will often then sleep till 3am (we give it at 10pm), recently though she will only take around 50mls and wakes again at 130. I find that after this initial wake up, with the dreamfeed, she is very unsettled afterwards. She will only go for another 3 hours and on occasions has woken up every hour after until 7am.

We fell asleep so didnt do the dreamfeed last night and she slept till midnight (we put her to bed at 7) and then till 5am, waking up at 7am. I'm wondering if this would just be better for her - wondering if the dreamfeed is just messing with her and confusing her, does anyone else find this?

Any experiences shared gratefully received!

Hello - we recently dropped our DD dreamfeed (she is 17 weeks now) as it was starting to feel mean to disturb her when she was so sound asleep.

But... we are considering bringing it back as she has started waking several times in the night again - but I think we might be going through a growth spurt/4 month sleep regression.

Sorry if that doesn't give you a firm answer! But best to follow your instincts, I would let sleeping babies lie!

Hiya, what time do you dreamfeed? Some people reckon that it disturbs sleep more if you do it after 11 strangely. Could play about with the times a bit or just drop it altogether xx

we dreamfeed about 10 o'clock, not sure whether to just persevere and try to get her to take more each time, tickling feet, blowing on face etc but it does feel mean!

funnily i had the exact same problem so stopped the dreamfeed for a bit, DS would then only wake once for the night instead of every 3 hours like clockwork. once he had got out of the habit of waking up i started the dreamfeed again and now he sleeps from 7 (dreamfeed at 10) right through till 7.30 :)
