11wo frequent waking - can I do anything? Getting desperate!

DS is 11 weeks old and since 8 weeks his sleep has been all over the place. He tends to sleep from 8pm for around two and a half hours (v occasionally as much as four), then from 11 to 7 sleeps no more than 60 to 90 mins at a stretch. He always wants to feed on waking and it can take up to a couple of hours to get him back to sleep. He doesn't usually cry when he wakes but is too noisy for me to sleep through - so some nights I get only 6ish hrs sleep with no stretches longer than 90 mins and it's taking its toll.

We are doing a nighttime routine, good naps in day, bottle of formula at 11pm feed (I bf) - nothing seems to make a difference. I've tried feeding lying down but it doesn't really work for me. Used to cosleep but DS is now in cosleeper cot next to my bed. An considering sleeping in another room sometimes but wd rather not. Any thoughts on what to do? He is a bit of a snacker in the day, should I be trying to space feeds more? Or will he just start to sleep better on his own?

Many thanks for any advice!

didn't want to let this go unanswered
i've no advice, but sympathy in spades

Hmm, a woman in Waitrose today told me it would get better at 12 weeks, thought that might be too good to be true! It's bad isn't it? Especially when other people's babies are starting to sleep through. Hope you have a better night tonight!

My 10 wo isn't sleeping through so you are not alone ! He refuses to go down in the evening - the 8-11 bit anywhere, but in his sling, which is back breaking.....it will get better :)

How are your little ones daytime naps ?

DS basically can't put himself to sleep, so naps are mostly in pram, sling or car - he usually wakes after one sleep cycle and if he is napping in his cot, can't get back to sleep. But naps are ok compared to nights. He sleeps best at night in my arms, which I try to avoid but usually end up doing at 3am when I'm desperate to sleep.
How does your DS sleep after 11, Podster? Sling sounds v tiring...

I'm having a similar problem with my 12wo DD. It's a nightmare isn't it (although an awake one as I don't get any sleep!) so I sympathise though can't help I'm afraid.

My dd will not nap anywhere except on me during the day or in the sling, She will not be put down, awake or asleep - she wakes up and screams before we even get her in her moses basket (or anywhere else). I've tried shh pat but she just screams and screams - no whingeing just 0 to hysterical in 5 seconds.

We are trying a routine at night but getting nowhere. We cosleep so she basically feeds all night half asleep but I can't move away or she wakes up. I'm so tired and look like death warmed up. I have no idea what to do.

It doesn't help when my dh (who gets a fairly good night's sleep as he doesn't help at night) complains about being tired and then asks why I haven't washed his football kit as I've 'been at home all day so really should be doing the washing',,,,
