4 month sleep regression?!

Hi,

Just wondering what happens with the 4 month sleep regression and if all babies go through it!!

My baby is 14 weeks and I'm already worrying that the sleep is going to get worse!

Thanks!

You know you can prepare for it right?

Start to offer more feeds throughout the day than you would normally, and make sure that each breast gets at least a cursory suck so that they get the signals to increase supply.

Then arrange so that you can go to bed a bit earlier in the evenings and hand the baby over, so you get a good 2 hours in advance of the 'night'.

Contrary to what Startingafresh says, for us, the 4month regression hasn't been anything to do with hunger. But don't worry, not all babies go through it.

For us, DS has woken about every 45 mins to 1.5 hours all night. At first I was thinking he was hungry and offering feeds, but he'd suck for 10 or 20 seconds and fall back to sleep. so no I am getting him back to slleo with dummy and chest patting. Oh and I have been trying to tank him up in the day, I try not to lrt him go more than 2 - 2.5 hours.

It's not fun and I am so tired it's untrue, but you never know you may be one of the lucky ones!

Was also worried like you but we never got a regression here - in fact betweem 4-5 months DS started sleeping though Smile
