bottom bunk would be my 3yr old top would be my 5yr old i knew they would need them eventually and its gettibg to that point now, there roon is not small but floor space is restricted by two beds. Its starting to look like a bombs hit it all the time due to not enough storage space iv sorted there toys and got rid a lot but i think its comes down to the beds. Just wanted some opinions on the practicallities of bunks.
many thanks

My girls have been in bunk beds since they were 3 and 4yrs old.

No problems what so ever, and we did it for the exact reason you want to... to free up space!

We did go for a set of bunks that can be used as 2 single beds though, so when they are older they have that option.

My DD went into a high bed (not bunk, about 1.3m high) when she was about 5yo.

She rarely gets up in the night. DS still gets up to the loo at least once during the night so am still not keen to put him in a high bed or top bunk. He is 6.5yo.

Is your 5yo a restless sleeper?
