20 week old - regular waking

My DS is 20 weeks old, and since he was about 12 weeks he wakes regularly through the night. He usually settles straight away as soon as he's given his dummy but this means me and DH going into him at least 5 times a night.

His bed time routine starts around 5.30 with him usually sound asleep by 6.30 and there's rarely a struggle for him to go off. Then, anywhere from 10pm he starts to wake. I feed him (ff) when he needs it (between 4-6 usually)

He used to sleep for long stretches (up to 10 hours) without waking once so I put the waking down to sleep regression but we've seen no let up. I think he's teething at the minute so that doesn't help (and I won't expect him to sleep right through when he's in pain poor thing) but can anyone give advice on what I can do to help him go right through? Is the pick up/put down approach an option? And has anyone else cracked this 'problem'?

I know I'm lucky that he sleeps well, and we have an easy fix with the dummy but I'd be a far happier mammy if I get a longer stint sleeping that 2 hours a time!!

maybe you should try weaning?

Was planning to try weaning this week nailak. Was unsure if it would affect his sleep but I'm hoping!
