Duvets for 1mo baby

When is it safe for a 15mo baby to use a duvet? He has used a grow bag up until now but this restricts him when wakes up. His granny has found a down duvet she would like to purchase for him. Would this be too hot bearing in mind it has sometimes been as low as 5C degrees in his room this winter

Was about to post trhe same question today, dd3 is 19mths and loves her big sisters duvets but I can not for the life of me remember at what age they moved over from gro bags.

The big sisters duvets are 4.5tog tho' if that helps any.

duvets are ok from 1 year. The tog depends on the size of the bed and therefore the surface area covered by the child i.e. 4.5tog max for a cot bed and 10.5tog max for a single bed

IIRC, babies over the age of 1 are fine with duvets. It's the under ones who can't kick off blankets etc when they get too hot.

my ds2, 19 months uses a duvet and yes as other advice, should be a low tog one.

Smile think I might treat her to one this weekend she can be a big girl like the other 2 Grin

aww she'll love that, how's it all going Doris?

ds2 manages better with a duvet, he can cover himself up much more easily.

We got a duvet when we put DS in a bed at about 18 months.
