I feel so guilty - I just couldn't face another evening and night going in to DD (9 months) every 40mins and breast feeding. I put her down at 7am after a big breastfeed. She woke at 7.40 and I just couldn't face it - I left her to cry for 15 minute intervals, in between I went in and cuddled her and at about 9 and I gave her some formula in a bottle. She has just gone quiet now but it's taken 3 hours.

Has anyone else done similar? I'm not trying to justify leaving her to cry (well I guess it was controlled crying) but she looked as knackered as I felt today, I'm sure she needs to sleep for a good stretch.

Thanks custardo Smile

Also, does anyone know - if she's crying sitting up, will she lie herself down to sleep?

probably, ive never seen a kid sleep sitting up unaided at that age but im no expert. as long as shes not on concrete, she will just wake herself up anyway

babies can sit up unainded from between 5 and 7 months.

its fine. dont feel guilty though. zero point!
