Having a nioghtmare with my 22 month old. If he wakes in the night that's it! He is awake and shouts and won't lie back in his cot. As we have an older child we end up putting him in our bed which of course is not ideal sometimes he will go back to sleep but often won't. It is usually 5.30 but can be anything from 3am!

Any tips - my first DS was an ideal sleeper so not sure what to do!

My DD was not an ideal sleeper :)

We did lots of co-sleeping to get through it - it was just easier than trying to fight it, and she's turned out ok in the end!

At about 22 months I got her a full-sized single bed, and when she woke at about 3/4am I would join her in her bed. I got more sleep that way than when we all tried to manage in our double - she moved around too much, she got hot and we got cold, so there were rows over the duvet.
Occasionally she would drive me mad by staying awake in her bed and trying to chatter to me in the dark - I don't really have an answer for that - I would just ignore her, and was sometimes able to doze through it!! Eventually this habit stopped, and she began sleeping through.

The line at the end gives me hope - "eventually this habit stopped.." it feels like I will never sleep past 6 again! Thanks for your reply, I may try the sleeping in his bedroom instead of ours!
