HELP!!! DD now an early riser

DD is 5 months old and the last 2 weeks she has started to wake at 5.30/6am. She sleeps through from 8/9pm until this time. Do we just accept that this is how she is going to be from now on or is there anyway we can try and get her to sleep for longer.????

She wakes in a VVVVVVV happy mood so isn't be woken by something by the looks of things.

I have started her on solids this week but it seems to have made no difference to her wake up time..

Napping during the day also doesn't have any impact on her sleep pattern.
I have read other threads about the clocks going back & i'm concerned that this wake up time may (within the next 2 weeks) be a 4.30/5am start .!!!!

I think they just keep changing. My ds has for the past couple of weeks decided 6.30 is wakeup time. It changes from time to time but seems to have no baring on when he went to bed, whether he napped the previous day or how light it is outside. He's now 2.9. They do it just to keep you on your toes!!

Oh God!!! Mine has been doing this too (7 months) and I'd forgotten about the clocks going back - aaargh! In fact her whole, previously wonderful, sleep pattern has gone out the flaming window. The only time she's slept in to a civilised time is when I had taken her into bed in desperation. Trouble with that is she is so noisy when she sleeps.

Sympathies without many solutions! I even tried doping her up with calpol & neurofen before bed and she was even worse!

Oh god, looks like there is no hope for any of us mums !!!
When I got up this morning I even said to dh " it's not the sun rising that is waking her as we are nearly in winter and it's pitch black outside!" I get envious at those neighbours who are sleeping around us !!!

Suppose we are lucky in a sense that dd doesn't wake at all during the night (don't want to shout it to loud and touch wood and all that ) so maybe waking after 9 hours sleep is not too bad.....buT someone tell my body that! I'm now on coffee with caffine for my first brew of the day LOL!!!

We did try dd in bed with us this morning but that lasted 5 mins!!! She is sleeping with us still so suppose that doesn't help BUT even if she slept in her own room I don't see it making any difference, what would we do..? Turn the monitor down..??? IMO thats unfair.

I hope for our sakes that we all get a magic answer to this thread . Think I best go to bed now.
