Is there a growth spurt at 12weeks?

Hi,

my baby is now 13 weeks and for the last couple of weeks she has been waking every few hours in the night. She had been sleeping 7-9 hours at a time, feeding and going back to sleep for a few hours! I know I was lucky, she always seemed to love going to bed, now she's waking up lots and I don't know what changed! Also having some issues with the last feed if you've read my other threads!

I guess I just need to know that she'll go back to sleeping well, and this is just some kind of phase!

Thanks

Think this is pretty normal. Rest assured just when you think you know their habits they will change them. It will pass.

When will it pass? I'm so tired!

Yes, it will pass. How long depends on the baby - some e.g. my DS don't even have a spurt at 12 weeks.

Kellymom has some info. There's often a big developmental spurt that goes alongside the growth spurt which can mess up sleep too.

I'm rather Envy at the 7-9 hours you had before though!

Thanks, she's still waking up lots and feeding more in the day too. Is it possible that actually she's now just extra hungry? I'm mix feeding her and wondered if maybe my supply just hasn't kept up with her demand?!

At the moment she has 2 bottles a day, maybe I should up this to 3?

Anybody? I'm so tired and she screams the house down at bedtime when she previously loved going to bed, we're going to go up to three bottles as of tomorrow as I can't help but think that she's still hungry and I don't fill her up now. But these nights are so upsetting and tiring...

She has never been able to self settle, when should I be worried about that and really try and teach her? (though I'm not sure how!!) She's 14 weeks on Monday!
