fighting sleep - help

My 6month old is constantly fighting sleep. He does it during the day but I get round it by walking with him in his pram. However, he is now doing it on a night. He was going to bed awake and falling asleep straight away. Now he is using everything he can tink of to keep himself awake. He is crying, eating, rocking, banging his legs off the bottom of the cot. I have tried everything to help swaddling wraps, sleeping bags, controlled crying. Please can you suggest some things as I really dont know what else to try. Thanks

I too have a baby, 4.5months, who fights sleep. The only reliable way I have of getting her to sleep is to co-sleep. I am going to try to get her to self settle and to sleep in her own cot again in a couple of months, perhaps after I have weaned her. Co-sleeping is the only suggestion I can make.
