11 month old not sleeping at night

I have an 11 month old son, he has never slept well at night, he goes to bed in his cot at 7pm and sleeps until 12, wakes - I normally feed him and end up sleeping in his room with him (spare bed), which is not ideal but sometimes the only way he will settle. He wakes at 3am and again at 6am. I can cope at the moment, I work full time in a professional job and I'm pretty tierd which is not a good combination. I'd like to plan baby number 2 but need to get this one sleeping through the night first. I'm not into controlled crying, any suggestions?

Do you feed him when he wakes up at 3am and 6am? If so, maybe you could wean him off the night feeds.

I'd also suggest not feeding him when he wakes. Make sure he gets plenty of supper and maybe a warm milk before he goes to sleeep. If he wakes, check he's OK (not hurt or cold or distressed etc.) but then say goodnight and leave. I think if you keep offering extra drinks and company he'll find it harder to settle himself. Good luck
