My DS is driving me a little insane!

After sleeping for three hour stretches since he was born, he now wakes every hour! He's been doing this for the last few days. I'm BF every hour and then he sleeps for an hour.

He used to BF for 30-40 mins and then do a three hour stretch, but now he feeds for 10-15 mins and zonks out.

Waking every hour at night is driving me potty and i don't know what to do, nor what's caused this!! Please help

Hmm - first thought is a growth spurt, if thats what it is it wont last long, are there any other changes in behaviour? You could try keeping him a little more wakeful to feed longer? You are doing really well feeding on demand and congrats!

Unfortunately pretty typical for a baby. Is he feeding less in the daytime now that he is beginnign to take an interest in teh world? If so, try to get in some longer feeds in the day by sitting somewhere darkish and boring with no tv or music.

If he is having a growthspurt he would be trying to stimulate your body to produce more milk which will only happen by feeding him more. Unfortunately there is more of the hormone that stimulates the milk production at night, so nightfeeds are better.

Both my girls were frequent night feeders as babies and co sleepign saved my sanity. That way I could still doze while the baby fed and best of all I didn't need to get out of bed at all. Might be worth a try.
