Dummy for naps will affect night time sleep?

Hi
I have struggled to get my 13wk DD to nap but over the last 2/3 weeks I can at least get her to sleep using a dummy and I don't have any major problems using one for naps.

Night time sleep has always been far less of a problem DD used to be able to self-settle and woke 2 times a night, which i can cope with at this age.

However, she had a really bad cold a week ago and for 5 nights she was too sorry for herself to sleep well so i fed her to sleep each night. Now i'm struggling to get her to self settle again and last night she was awake every 2 hours. I know its more likely that the poor night sleep/feeding to sleep is the problem but is it likely that the dummy for naps is now affecting her at bedtime?

Cheers for any help

I don't think there's a connection in all honesty. Would the dummy work for night-times as well? I'm sure she'll get back to her normal pattern soon.

we use a dummy for naps and my ds self settles at night, from what I have read naps and night time sleep uses different parts of the brain so should be fine. it's fine for us, I was told he only way to get rid of the dummy was cc and there is no way I am doing this so am happy to keep using them!

Thanks both, I didn't think that the dummy was the problem - just wanted to check. cheers
