We think we might have finally cracked DS2's shocking sleep - he's afraid of the dark Blush.

Problem is he shares a room with his big brother who won't sleep now cos it's too light Confused.

Help!

Can you buy a night light that's 'localised' to one cot/side of the bedroom so we can try and cater for both boys needs and all get a good night's sleep? Something we haven't had in a very long time Blush.

TIA.

ds has a gloe bear that lights up when you press it's paw and stays lit for 30 minutes - would that be an option? I am sure ikea also do light up things that can be taken to bed so wouldnt light up the whole room like a night light.

gloe bear

Thanks Seona, have been looking at similar things on Amazon but it's no good if it goes off Sad. DS2 normally wakes at about 1ish and this is when he becomes inconsolable until we started to leave the light on three nights ago, he woke, wimpered for a couple of mins and straight back to sleep Shock.

We need to find a soft toy that stays on all night!

this stays lit, so does this

Would one of these be too bright?

Ooh, the lumilove thing looks like a possibility. It's getting the light level right isn't it? We currently have one of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=beautifulnightlights.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/51515_pe151264_s4.jpg&imgrefurl=beautifulnightlights.com/%3Fcat%3D25&h=317&w=500&sz=40&tbnid=bbLOsidrVz_SVM:&tbnh=82&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dikea%2Bnight%2Blights&zoom=1&q=ikea+night+lights&hl=en&usg=__EeZ8Qj9L5dKD6xUW9evQCLsgcA0=&sa=X&ei=8nwjTZiwFMWYhQeRjcW3Dg&ved=0CEsQ9QEwCA" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">these which DS2 obviously doesn't like but DS1 loves, so we need to strike a balance!

How old is ds1? Would he wear an eye mask?

pickyourbattles · 04/01/2011 20:27

2.7 - highly doubt it! He is terrfied of the dark (won't even leave the lounge without the hall light being turned on) but is happy to sleep with the level of light we had on.
