Hi everyone, my 9 week old baby has just started crying for hours in his sleep. Not only does he cry, but he chews noisily on his hands which seems to make him cry further, but he's completely asleep. He's done this for the past 2 nights from 2am until 5am. The first night we just left him, but last night my OH got up at 4am and comforted him, but then had to do this a couple of times. I've looked online and can't find any solutions other than either leave him to it or comfort him, but I'm worried he isn't getting enough of the deep sleep that he needs, plus I'm not sure how we'll cope with this when the christmas hols are over and i'm back to sorting the LO on my own (OH has a very stressful job and is out at 6.30 and home at 7.30).
Any ideas what I can do? He is currently in a crib which I think also stops him deep slee[ing as he now hits his hands on the bars. During the day and from 7-10.30pm he sleeps in his cot in his room where he doesn't do this. Could it just be he needs more room to sleep?
