Totally messing up DD's naps

DD (almost 8mo) has never been much of a sleeper but I have recently been really working on her daytime naps. We've been doing fairly well (in that she's finally napping in her bed) and she generally sleeps for 30 mins to an hour at a time.

I still have 2 problems though: she gets very tired very quickly so I rarely manage to catch her in that nice drowsy state when I can put her in her cot still awake. As a result I'm feeding her (BF) in an attempt to calm her down (she gets very wound up). Then of course she drops off on the boob and I end up putting her down pretty much already asleep.

The other problem is that she can't seem to make it to lunch time without needing an extra sleep (on top of her post-breakfast sleep). I've brought lunch time forward to 11:15 in an attempt to feed her before she's too tired but it doesn't work. She's just had a sleep from 11:00 - 11:40 so now lunch will be later and God knows when her next nap will be. This will then have an impact on bedtime.

Help. Please?
