17 week old - won't sleep in cot

just looking for some advice as I am quickly heading towards exhaustion! my 17 week old DS was a really good sleeper going down at 7pm at 6 weeks and sleeping through at 11 weeks without any prompting from us. however over the past few weeks he has stopped going down at 7 and most nights will not settle in his cot. occasionally he will sleep for a couple of hours in it and then wake up crying. he then ends up in bed with us. recently he has also been crying when I try to put him down on his back and will only sleep on me or in his bouncy chair. has anyone had any experience of this? will it pass? I am going back to work in January and I really hope it all settles down again by then.

thanks for reading.

is it too cold?
dd didn't like to sleep in her cot in our (cold) bedroom until we put a large towel under her sheet so the bed didn't feel cold to touch.
