Too much sleep??!

DS (14mo) always sleeps a lot but I thought it would reduce as he gets older!

Today he woke up at 7.20am and then had a nap at 9.15am which lasted for 2hr 15min, and then went for another one at 1.45pm and is still asleep! That's another 1hr 45min and counting...

And he'll go off to sleep at 6.30-7pm this evening, no bother, I just know he will. He never wakes at night.

WHY is he so sleepy? Is it the walking? (He's just learnt, so we have been out for a walk to the corner shop most days). He also has a little cough (tail end of cold)

Tell me this is normal!

If he's healthy, eating properly, weight ok, alert etc then I'm sure it's normal.

Gah, I was kind of hoping he'd drop to one nap soon....doesn't look likely, does it? Grin

Count yourself lucky. One of my children was still having an hour in the morning 3 after lunch another hour before dinner and in bed and asleep from 7pm till 7am , right up until she was 20 months old. I just enjoyed the peace. As from previous experience, a sleeper is better than an insomniac. Make sure you don't tell this to anyone with a child who doesn't sleep. !!!!!

My DS did this recently - but he was recovering from illness (he had a nasty nasty virus). Back to normal today though!
