7 month old suddenly not settling at night

No idea what's happened to my 7 month old of late... from about 4 months she's been really good at settling herself at night, we have a fairly regular routine of bath, feed, story, bed and I've been careful to put her to bed when she's sleepy but not completely asleep. Generally works like a charm.

However, recently she'll start to get sleepy, I'll put her in the cot and she'll kick like mad, then cry for ages. I've tried keeping her in the cot but soothing her; staying in the room but not making eye contact; and leaving the room with regular 'checks' - she cries anyway whatever I do. Staying in the room in the dark seems to work best (i.e. it takes half an hour of crying rather than two or three for her to settle) - once she's settled she doesn't seem to mind if I leave the room.
Have tried moving her bedtime to earlier/later but neither seems to work - on the worst occasion we put her down at 7:30 and she finally went to sleep at 11pm.

Does this seem normal? She also refuses to have any covers on despite the room being freezing cold. Confused

Could she be cold? have you tried a sleeping bag?

is she teething? our little one who is now 22 months did the same thing and it was only when i got bit a couple of days later that we realised the problem was his teeth

see if you can have a look around and see any teeth coming through. if it is a bit of calpol and teething gel should do the trick until the pain stops

hope that helps
