My DD is 15 months old and has always been a good sleeper. She used to go to bed at 7 but in the past two weeks can't make it past half six. she then sleeps through until 9.30/10. she isn't much of a napper but has increased her afternoon nap to 1hr 1/2 from 20mins. she shouldn't need that much sleep should she?

she has congenital hypothyroidism but is showing no other problems except for the sleepiness. do you think i should be worried? I have a real strong maternal instinct feeling about this and the last time i had that something was wrong, her lack of thyroid gland.

Last night my two year old slept for 14.5 hours. This is not remotely unusual- it coincides with growth spurts.
But if your maternal instinct is ringing alarm bells, go to the GP not MN.
