my 11 month old used to nap at 9.30 ish for about an hour, and then again at 12.30 for a couple of hours, which was great. she is now not getting tired til about 10/10.30 which is when we want to be out and about - she sleeps most of the morning, wakes for lunch and then has a shorter nap in the afternoon . trouble is, she seems then to be missing all the playgroups and activities and only be awake for meals! is she trying to drop a nap, and if so, should I try and keep her going til lunch time - it would be better for her and me if she could nap then! any advice?

yes they're tricky little blighters arent they!! just when you think you've got a great routine it all changes. can you try to change bed / wake time a bit or is that suting you as is? just thought, if she slept til a bit later she might last til lunchtime.
you could aim for 11.30 nap, you can then do an hour at playgroup and straight to bed, with a late lunch?
i think it is probably too early to go to 1 nap only though.

If I were you, I'd stick with the sleep. That's much more important than playgroups at this age. Most babies aren't ready for one nap until they're about 18 months so you will probably just end up with an overtired baby who's difficult to manage. It's only 6 months or so until you are down to one nap and in the meantime, make the most of your me time!!!

My two at 11 months slept at 10.30am and 3pm. Agree with bippyhippy's comments.

Oh I remember this - late morning and late afternoon naps. But by 12 months my ds was dropping to one nap at 11 or 11.30 and that is where we are now at 21 months. I would try and roll with it. It is not for long at all!
