Fleece sleepsuits and swaddling?

Hi everyone

As of yesterday I found out that my 4 week old sleeps better swaddled, up until now he has been in a growbag but he constantly woke himself up. This is great but my mother-in-law has bought him some fleece sleepsuits, can he wear one of these and still be swaddled if the room is cold? I'm just not sure and petrified of him overheating as the health visitor keeps telling us about how being too hot is the biggest contributor to cot death.

Someone help

Thanks

you could try swaddling in a muslin over the fleece. we did this when ds was v young and it was the height of summer. youll prob need two, one for upper body one for legs, fold them in half to make a triangle then the longest side of the triangle gives you the length you need for swaddling. also adjust what he wears under the fleece to maintain correct temperature.

I think every baby is different - some are very "hot-blooded". Maybe try the muslin thing during a daytime "nap" and immediately after he's awake, have a feel of his neck. If it is hot and/or damp, he's too warm.

Sorry for the delay and thanks for the advice. We gave up on the fleeces as my lo tends to fill his nappies so much in the night that they can't cope and it ends up up his back (despite going up in size!), and when he did this in the fleece sleepsuits they held the moisture in so he was dripping wet.

Think we'll just stick to normal suits and vests, i know where i stand with those
