Naps at Nursery - should I worry?

DD, 13months, was never a great napper but at home she will now have two naps a day - about an hour in length, one in the morning, one after lunch. This is great and a big improvement.

She goes to nursery Mon - Thurs, and in the last few weeks her daytime naps have gone totally to pot. When she started she would have several 30mins a day.

I don't expect her to have long sleeps at nursery: too much excitement I think, and maybe a bit noisy. But in the last few weeks her daytime naps have tailed off, and now she is only having maybe one 20min nap a day.

They try to put her down more and she won't have it. And she seems happy enough on that little sleep.

But in my heart I know this just isnt long enough, long term, for her. I guess I am wondering:

do you think this is a phase and her naps will extend, somehow?

is there anything I or the nursery can do to help her sleep longer or at least more often?

and (neurotic): will having this little sleep affect her health?

TIA xxx

My DD (15mo) is with a CM two days a week and her daytime naps there are pretty erratic (not the CM's fault!). She sometimes has a good nap (an hour or more, especially if she's in a pushchair) but other days, like today, only 20 minutes or so. On poor nap days I try to get her to bed really early, about an hour before her usual nap time. I sort of hope that she might get some extra night time sleep to make up for the lack of napping. We have all kinds of sleep 'ishoos', but this seems to help a bit.

Chances are that it will get better as she gets ued to the nursery especially as most of the children will be having a nap.

Agree about putting her to bed half an hour / an hour earlier than normal on nursery days.

Yes will try that, thank you!
