Ds2 will only sleep if I'm holding him or on his front. I have resisted putting him down like this but am now soooo tired have put him to bed on his tummy.

I know the advice is not to but I'm going mental with tiredness. Any thoughts /advice ?

Honestly?

I couldn't bring myself to do it. i think I would leave a baby to scream Blush.

Does he sleep in a pram/pushchair/car seat? Do you put him down on a mat on the floor, on his back?

I'm just wondering if there's some reason lying on his back might upset him - have you tried propping the cot up a bit?

There is so much controversy surrounding the right way for a baby to sleep and the clue is in your first sentence. He only sleeps on his front - wow you are lucky he sleeps at that age {wink] and so you needn't worry, least he is sleeping eh! When i was a baby it was the right way to sleep, when i had a baby it was on their back. My sisters children (3 of them) only ever slept on their front and the HV showed her what happened if you put the babies head down on the mattress full on - the baby at 3 wks, turned it's head to sleep with it's face to the side automatically so all should be well.

My DD1 only slept on me or a V shaped pillow and i went crazy too but you need your sleep to function too. If you ask the HV tho they will make you feel bad so don't say anything unless you really want to.

All the best Smile
