Sheepskin?

A friend of mine has given me a sheep skin because I told her that DD (6 months) won't settle very well in her cot. Apparently they're great because babies like the softness etc.

I didn't want to appear too thick so I'm asking this question anonomously instead! Do I just put it in her cot for her to sleep on?

Thank you :)

Do you have a long or short haired one? I quite fancied one for DD.

Sorry to be a killjoy but there is lots of advice on SIDS websites that say you should never put a baby to sleep on sheepskin due to the risk of suffocation.
