How to extend morning naps?

DD is 16 weeks, is EBF, and has started sleeping at 7pm, sometimes wakes for a feed around 3am, sometimes not. Wakes at 6/7am for first feed, then goes back to sleep for another 2/3 hours. Then a feed, then up to an hour of play time (usually in bed, me singing to her etc), but then she only has half an hour of sleep (her sleep cycle is just 30 mins). Today she woke up after this sleep but then wanted another nap after only 30 minutes!

I don't normally bring her downstairs til lunchtime, to try to help her get as much sleep as possible in the morning. Otherwise she gets very quickly overtired and is a nightmare to get to sleep after that.

How can I extend the mid-morning nap so she gets an hour, rather than 30 mins and then another 30 mins soon after? SEems to me she wants to sleep for longer but wakes after the end of a sleep cycle and can't get back to sleep.

Not sure what others will say but it sounds like the morning nap is not actually a nap but that it is an extension of night time.

Maybe try to keep her awake for longer after her 6/7am feed - you could do a nappy change, read a book and play for a wee while? She probably isnt tired anough to sleep mid morning if she is sleeping 2/3 hours after her first feed.
