Just wondered whether anyone knew of a bed rail that can be fitted to a standard double bed with a slatted base and iron bedstead?

TIA

Hello, well, I have a big old antique bed, a bit like a sleigh bed. What I did was get one of those flat, wooden, slatted type of bed rails, it's more like a large bread board with long holes in it iyswim. I shoved it down between the mattress and the edge of the bed/wooden side bit.

It usually stayed put!

You're meant to screw those into the side of a wooden bed but I didn't want to and the shoving method worked.

I'm not sure though about your set up. What are the side rails of your bed made from? Are they metal? If so you might have trouble.

You could stand something on the floor and cable tie it to the headboard, like a gate, and again cable tie it to the side rail so it didn't move about?

Sorry that's a bit bodgey but it's the best idea I have atm!

Other option is always loads of big cushions or old cot mattress parked on the floor, next to the bed.

cheers constance. neither dh nor i is very handy, and we've failed to adapt DD1's old rail. will have a good think.

Hiya. We have a lindam bed rail. It's designed for single beds and doesn't 'hook' on, but find my weight on the mattress keeps it secure and it covers most of the length of the bed. Searched everywhere for a double bed rail but they didn't appear to exist :/ HTH

I have a double slatted bed and use a babydan bed guard, like jerryg it doesn't hook on but it is very secure...
