Daytime naps and the school run - advice please!

Hi there,

I have 3 kids - 4 mth, 2 and 4. The eldest has just started school and the 2 year old goes to nursery two mornings a week and has to be picked up at 1pm on those days. The school and nursery are both within walking distance ( max 20 mins walk one way)

My question is....how on earth do people manage their babies' day time naps when you have to leave the house at 08.3o and 3.15pm daily and also at 12.40 on two days a week.

My baby does not easily fall asleep in the pushchair but if she does, doesn't stay asleep for long. We do not have the carry cot attachment to a push chair but I'm beginning to wish I bought one when she was a newborn because now it's a bit late and she will probably grow out of it.

My baby is also a lot happier when she has slept in her cot ( prone - she can roll over both ways with ease) and also tends to sleep better at night but it's proving to be very difficult with all these pick ups.

How do others manage???

Thanks for your help x

Hi.

TBH I just scoop them up and go.
Smaller children simply have to fit in around the family.

I do have a carry cot though, and the baby will fall asleep in there on the way back. He'll nap in the garden for an hour or so at 9.30ish. (With french doors open!)

Can you pick up a carry cot for your pram on ebay?

thanks queefer.

I may look into a carry cot that fits our pushchair. I agree they have to fit in but it does make er very grumpy if she her sleep is cut short!!

I also just scoop and go at school time with a sleeping baby. As they get older and nap times get a bit more predictable it can be possible to time it so that they are waking up before school run.
