Having big problems with dd who is 19 months, she has never slept well. We decided to put her in a bed a few weeks ago as she wouldnt stay in her cot, first few nights were great, she went straight to sleep and stayed in bed till the morning. Now its just all gone wrong, soon as i put her in her bed she screems and crys until she's sick, the only place she will sleep is in my bed. So dh is sleeping down stairs and dd is in our bed and she still wakes up in the night at least once.
I would like dd to sleep all night in her own bed. How can we achieve this?

Was the bed in your room or a different room?

Might be worth trying a mattress on the floor next to you?

We leave the light on on the landing and her door open, Her beds in her room, she has been in her own room since 4 weeks old and is usualy ok at going to sleep but has always woken up in the night, im pg and due in march, i realy want to get this sorted before the next one arives.

I would put your lo back in her bed and you on a mattress on the floor next to her for a few nights until your lo gets used to sleeping in her own bed again. If she gets up I would just put her back into bed again as many times as you need to - dont let her end up sleeping next to you on your mattress as that would defeat the whole object.

Good luck whatever you do!!

oh marne i echo what seona says, you'll have to keep percevering with putting her in her bed and making her room as cosy as possible for her, and mummys room really boring ..if thats possible.

maybe a new duvet cover or bed lite or some novelty thing for her in the room? without going to much expense

Thankyou,
I will keep trying, we are trying the new duvet cover (good idea)
