has anyone got any tips on how to get back to sleep after being up in the night? i almost fall asleep on top of DS2 while i'm feeding him in the middle of the night, then the moment I put him down and get back into bed, i'm totally wide awake. Nothing worse than lieing there with a sleeping husband, a sleeping toddler, and even a sleeping newborn in the rooms around you! Would appreciate any nodding-off tips, as it is so frustrating!

Count backwards from 300. Or try naming countries to the alphabet. Or names. I've never yet got to 0 or Zaire!

Don't get stressed about it, think to yourself that even if you lie there awake you are still getting a rest. Then sleep will come.

we have radio 4 on very quiet so I always doze off to that...

Scarlett175 I used to go to sleep to Radio 4 till one night when the World Service decided to broadcast the History of the Drums at 3am! Shock. I'm sure the scheduler was having a laugh. :o

I guess you don't co-sleep? I find it so much easier since we started co-sleeping. We have our own variation: DS on a single mattress next to mine on the floor so we both have a bit of space. It means I don't wake up so much so it's easier to get back off.

How old is ds2? I was like this for the first 2 weeks. It got better, but I have a ritual of rescue remedy night, lavender on my pillow & I listen to Harry potter on my iPod.
