I would like to get DS 19m a little duvet as I think he is waking up cold.

But is 19m too young/small for a duvet??

Perfectly safe but be warned. We tried one for 18mo DS2 and he thought it was tremendous sport to spend all evening chucking it across the room Hmm

12month old has one firmly tucked in at the end. it has stopped all tears at bedtime. nothing short of miraculous. doesn't know how to use it yet though so we put him in a fleecy babygro.

Thanks for your replies Meg and Ruby.

After Meg posted I went off down to Mothercare to get a quilt thinking 'OK if he chucks it round the room I'll put it away for a while'.

So at bedtime we put it in his cot, turned the corner back, and then put him in the cot and put it over his legs. He broke into a big beam, pointed to his hidden legs and then poked the embroidery for a while. He seemed really pleased with it. DH just went to have a look at him - he is sleeping with it over him up to the waist.

So far so good ...
