Hi

I have a 4.5 month old who has always slept well through the night going off a 7 waking at 4.30/5ish for a quick feed then off to sleep again until 6.30/7.
In the last few weeks she has now started waking at 3 and will not go back to sleep after feed.
She has been on bottles throughout the day now for a month with me still BF at her 4.30/5 to get her back off. However over the last week I have been using a bottle so i have stopped bfing altogether.
I started only making up a small amount of formula as I dont want her to get used to a big feed at 3! but the last few nights she has seemed hungry after this so now I have been giving her more!
I ensure she feeds every 3 hours during the day so I know she is getting enough then.
Does anyone have any advise as Iam now starting my day from 3am which I am really struggling with!!

Thank you

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sorry to hear you are struggling :(

I remember when DS was around that age he woke up every hour on the hour for about a week and I was demented!!!

I did a bit of a search on this site and found that around 4 months many kids go through a bit of a sleep regression. Around that age kids are starting to approach some big milestones and this can result in them waking more.

As for you changing from breast-bottle feeding. I'm sorry I can't offer advice on that. I am still bfing my DS during the night, so I can't advise on bottles during the night.

I'm hoping someone who does know about it will be along soon to help you.

Last night was worse as she woke at 2 then again at 3.30! The hard thing is that after being sleep deprived when she was a newborn then getting into a routine and finally getting a good nights sleep, I feel we are going backwards now Confused.

Thank you for your reply Smile
