ds is 3.5 and is driving me mad with his night time demands - last night I was woken up at 3.30am by him calling - he couldn't find his teddy.

night before (about 4am) he wanted to "tell me something" Hmm

sometimes it is because he's kicked his covers off, fair enough I don't want him to be cold but I don't think he makes any attempt to pull them back over himself.

I feel mean if I try to ignore him, he's only little, but being woken up to retrieve a lost toy is quite annoying to say the least. Ignoring also results in cries of increasing volume and anguish. any ideas please?!

When you do go into him how do you deal with the 'problem'? If it's something like a lost teddy or bedding just pick it up, put it next to him and leave - don't speak to him at all. He might just wake up bored and fancy a chat - if he knows he isn't going to get any attention, it might persuade him to stop. Also, no fetching drinks or anything at night - night is for sleeping only. HTH

I used to keep putting mine back into bed but then he just would call from his bed so I let him come in and stopped fighting it and eventually he grew out of it! I would go in and follow Seeline's advice.Sometimes what you resist persists!
