Bedtime

Every evening we try and put DS down to bed between 7 and 8. He's asleep when we leave the room and everything seems fine for about half an hour.

Then he starts waking up and making snufling noises. Often we'll go in when he starts making noise but this just makes him think he's getting up.

What does everyone else do? Would you leave him if he's not crying? Why does he wake after half an hour?

I dont have an issue with going in to him, but worry about it becoming a habit for him. He's only 10 weeks so is still very little.

Hover and listen. Wee babies are incredibly noisy sleepers (why does no-one tell you that?!) If he's not distressed then he might not be properly waking, just shuffling about like they do. Tiny ones are on an hour sleep cycle, with a light phase of sleep at 30 minutes and 45 minutes. Try holding back and see if he settles again, obviously going to him if he's getting upset (10 weeks way too early for any kind of sleep training, or even an expectation of a real pattern for some kids).
