Overtired toddler!

I have a 22mth old DD. She has a 2 hr nap in the morning (from 10-12pm) but by 5.30 she is overtired and gets herself in a real state. She gave up her afternoon nap a few weeks ago, but she still gets sleepy during the afternoon but won't go to bed now. She sleeps for 12 hours at night, so she is definitely getting enough sleep. I can't keep her up any longer in the morning, due to her sitting at the bottom of the stairs waiting to go to bed by 10am, and she goes to nursery twice a week in the afternoon, so needs to be up and have had her lunch. We have started bathing her at 6pm and into bed by half past but she is usually in a state already. Sorry this went on a bit but I hate seeing her so distressed every evening, and just wanted to know if anyone else had had this problem!

My DTs (21 months) are doing exactly the same at the moment, I think it is something you just have to see through, they will get get used to it before you know it. I remember DS being the same at this age.
