The time has come to move my 2 year old back into his own room.
I have a month to prepare as I have just ordered his new bed.
Does anyone have any tips, he hates being in his cot and loves snuggling up to me but I am just not getting any quality sleep.
I'm hoping to foster soon so there is no way he can be in my bed.
I'm convinced he will just get out and come in with me as he did climb out of his cot to get to me.

be careful he doesn't associate the fostering with removal of him from your bed.

Apart from that I would think you just have to go hardcore and not let him get in...ever? I'm going to shut up now and let someone with co-sleepng experience comment....

I know which is why I need to do it now, they've said he needs to be in his own bed for a couple of months before I start.

He's in my bed now, except I've gone up and he's playing in his room so I put him back and he's piled all the pillows up and is sat on top of them reading my magazine - in the dark !!!

Well bumping for you, but I'd go for the classics, character duvet cover, night light, cuddles in bed with story large unclimbable stairgate etc. Do you do a bath and bed routine thing already? Start that while he's still in your bed?

You crossed out "large unclimable stairgate" -but we used one of these made by my DH many moons ago to keep our DS who could climb normal stairgates at 1 in his room :)

I'm not sure how PC baby prisons are on these threads... Grin

No I shamefully admit we don't have a particular routine, I rarely give him a bath at night, usually in the morning as I was always too shattered. I'm not as exhausted now so will start, but I don't like giving him a bath every day. !!

I have the roller blind stairgates so I could move one that I don't use to his bedroom !! The bed will hopefully be here in 3 weeks, I'm hoping he'll love it and will want to stay in it !! I'm deluded I know !
