Nightime Sleep & Napping gone wrong!

My boy is 12 weeks and from about 6weeks was sleeping from about 8pm half waking for his 11 o'clock feed but sleeping right through till anytime between 7-8am. He also napped well, although assisted by a dummy, but had about 1 hour in the am, about 2hrs around lunchtime and about 45 mins about 4ish. Since him having a cold a couple of weeks ago, he has become a bad napper, needing to be held almost 90% of the time to go to sleep and then waking if i try to put him down. He's also waking in the night anytime from around 3-5am sometimes he'll go back down other times he won't. He definatly isn't waking for food, as hes never crying, just fussing like he can't get himself back to sleep. I give him his dummy, he looks like hes asleep, he drops dummy, he fusses, and it goes on. Just wondering if anyone has any tips that might help me get back on track!

There's a growth spurt at 12 weeks plus a developmental leap where the brain can now recognise different things. This messes up sleep as their brain is whizzing about.
I'd keep the routine consistent, ride it out and hopefully it'll pass. There is more at 4/5 months, 6 months, 9 months etc - plenty of ups and downs!
